CLIENT #2: WORST CLIENT EVER
So you may be wondering how things are going with all my
friends and relatives
very professional clients, who came to me in desperation begging me to help them make sense of their living space.
My sister Logan, AKA Sissy, is definitely the worst of all my clients as she works until midnight every day and has no time to look at all the boards on Pinterest that I have going for her apartment, and also she doesn't do anything I tell her. Not one thing. I have to physically go to her apartment and DO what I want done, like move the bedside tables or remove the boxes of junk from the closet, because she WILL NOT LISTEN. But nonetheless, she has hired me for a full apartment overhaul, so we're taking it one room at a time.
Worst Client Ever (and Andrew)
Sissy has an amazing apartment in Williamsburg that is, relatively speaking, HUGE. The apartment I lived in the longest before moving in with Ted was about the size of her bedroom. Maybe. In addition to said bedroom, there's also a small living room and another room that we're turning into an office/dressing room (Sissy works too hard and has a fucking shitload of clothes).
So we're tackling the dressing room/office first. Sissy's taste is very modern, very sleek, NOT frilly, NOT girly, more streamlined and utilitarian. Here are some of the photos I'm using for inspiration:
Here's what we've decided on so far. This desk and chair to go against one wall:
And while Sissy has about a million books, she also has about a million pairs of shoes, so we're going to buy two Billy bookcases from
:
And utilize them like so against the wall opposite the desk:
As for the books:
For the wall above the desk, we've purchased six gallery frames (two of each size), also from
:
Which will be filled with art and/or photos, and joined by these two prints:
We're also going to paint the back of the bookcases in this color:
Champion Cobalt from Benjamin Moore
Which is a totally awesome color with an even more awesome name (who doesn't want to be a champion?), will match the rug and the lamps and the print, and make the plain Ikea bookshelves more interesting.
So far the gallery frames and the lamps have arrived, the rug is on its way, and the online order from Ikea is being finalized. I can't wait to show you guys the "Before" and "After" photos - you will not believe the difference.
XOXOXO
