That's right, I have found love in the unlikeliest of places (for me at at least). A pair of peep-toe booties. That's right. I said peep-toe (which fucking I hate) and bootie (which I fucking hate more). I never in a million years thought that I would own a pair of booties, let alone ones with peep toes. But the heart wants what it wants and when I saw these Alexander Wang shoes:
And it was all over but the payin'. I was perusing The Outnet, you see, and noticed they were having a serious sale, like 70-80% off their already discounted prices. So in the vain hope that there might be some trifle, a hankie or a key chain or something, that I could actually afford, I took a look.
You guys, if you haven't been over there already, go hit that sale and hit it hard. There were several items calling my name, loudly, that were also Ann-Burr-priced. Only since I no longer have the use of credit cards (thank you, Ted), I had to wait for my paycheck to get deposited so I could actually pay for what I was buying (a novel concept for me). And while there were a couple of things that were vying with the shoes for my attention, like this Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti black dress:
I know it doesn't look like much from the front, but check out the back:
How amazing, right? Love. This dress from Marni, is also awesome:
And these pants (Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti) were, like, made for me:
I still can barely look at them without crying bitter tears of loss. Because, of course, by the time I had any money, while the dresses and the pants were both totally affordable, a lot closer to $100 than $200, they were also gone. Someone who had behaved more responsibly with their finances in the past and managed to KEEP their credit cards had snatched them from my grasp. This is a hard lesson I am learning, folks.
But the shoes were still there. The only pair left was my size. It was a sign, and I acted on it. So I am now the proud owner of a pair of $125 peep-toe booties (marked down from $550). I guess I better start saving up for pedicures.
XOXOXO
