I have mentioned how the top of my armoire is naked and bare (scroll down, it's at the end) and needs to be populated with lovely, high-end items. It's not going to be easy, considering the fatwah on spending declared by Ted, but I'll find a way, goddammit. And find a way I have. Or at least I've started.
You see, Ted's grandfather used to sell soda water (this may sound like a non-sequiter but stick with me). I mean, a long time ago, when there was such a thing as a seltzer man, like a milk man, who used to come around with glass bottles filled with seltzer. Ted's grandfather wasn't the actual seltzer man, but owned a seltzer company, and when Ted's Grandma went into a home (kicking and screaming. How come old people never want to go to a home? I'll be fucking GLAD to go to a home. Lots of other old people, bingo, and crafts? Sign me up!) we found about a million soda water bottles in the basement of her house. Most of them were just clear, but some were beautiful shades of blue and green and when Ted's father offered us a few we took three:
Till now, they have lived on the bar:
Which made sense, but let's face it, the bar is getting pretty crowded and you can't really see the bottles what with all the decanters full ofliquid joy alcohol. So I stole them:
I know they look a little lonely, but they're just the right color and won't be lonely for long. Today on One King's Lane I found a pair of really cool stoneware urns:
One is 12" high and the other is 14" high and they only cost $30 total! I KNOW! I can't wait for them to get here; they'll go on the opposite corner of the armoire. And I'll work my way in. Slowly but surely. Here are some examples of the look to which I aspire:
Wish me luck!
XOXOXO
