Client #7 could also be called Client #1, in that she is my first client who is not a) directly related to me or b) might as well be. And that's enough about what kind of nut would want to hire me if they weren't bound to me by love or blood. I know. I was surprised too.
Desiree isn't a nut at all, she's a lovely person, but being single mom to two kids is no joke, yo, and in her case what fell through the cracks was the decor of her lovely home. So she hired me to get her back on track. Here's the game plan for the living room:
We're working with a budget, and the lion's share will go towards one main project: reupholstering two pieces of furniture. Here's what they look like now (sorry for the iPhone photos):
Pretty bad, right? But they are family heirlooms and have great bones, and will look amazing once they are covered in new fabric. We're deciding between these two shades of blue:
I'm leaning towards the darker one. We've already bought one rug, for the larger of the two seating areas in front of the fireplace (it looks amazing):
And are deciding on one for the other seating area in front of the television (or where the television will be once we get it off the wall in front of the fireplace and into the corner where it belongs), currently these are in the running:
Any preference? We're taking suggestions in the comments section ;)
We're also doing new curtains, adding a bookcase, buying new tufted ottoman, moving a piano keyboard, hanging art, and potentially adding a mantelpiece to the working fireplace. The space is going to be completely transformed. I seriously can't wait.
XOXOXO
